ORPHANAGE (YATHEEM KHAANA)
Orphanage or Yatheem khaana is the first child and foremost set up of
the Institution. It is an alternative shelter for those children who
are virtually deprived of the care and protection of their fathers.
That is the reason why, the people’s minds draws no demarcation line
between the Orphanage and Al-Madeena. Whenever they hear about Al-Madeena,
Yatheem khaana gets suddenly visualized in one’s mind's eye. Food,
clothing, accommodation and above all schooling are copious that are
considered to be one of the star features of the Institution. We, in
fact, find no difficulty to see a number of children in the street
without being able to get such basic necessities, and becoming the
road Romeos and anti-social elements lacking the fragrance of good
manners and culture. Despite the fact that they possessed the hidden
talents and brainpowers,

they became withered away devoid of the
proper guidance and protection of their fathers. Those are the
children in the community and society, who becomes easily prey for the
unwanted situation, which goes always in the negative direction. In
order to avoid such situation, the Yatheem khana was brought to
existence with strict adherence to the Islamic and human values.

The protection of orphans is one of the great rewarding deeds in
Islam. “The minder of orphans and me will be like this” Prophet
Muhammad (S.A) said by showing his fingers. Qur’aan also emphasizes
the same in many places. That is why, the Muslim society has always
been philanthropic towards the orphans. With a broad objective of
offering food, cloths and shelter, and providing religious and
material educations to orphans so as to make them a ideal individual,
the Yatheem khana @ Orphanage was kicked off and inaugurated by Tajul
Ulema Ullala Thanghal in 1994. It was an edifice of tiled roof started
with just 11 orphan children. The foundation stone had been laid under
the headship of Ullala Thangal for a colossal Yatheem khana in the same
year. Presently, 111 orphans have been studying and they have been
provided with separate accommodation and canteen. A lot of children
went out of the Orphanage after completion of their study. The
students from L.K.G to P.U.C and other students from vocational
courses have been staying in the Yatheem khana free of cost. All their
expenses are being borne by the institute.
